Our San Antonio Phase 1 Facility

Our San Antonio facility has 30,000 square feet of space on 2 floors with over 100 available beds. The facility has been customized to meet the unique and demanding needs of clinical research. We are located within 2 miles of major hospitals.

On-site Laboratory

We have an on-site, CLIA- certified laboratory that does a full-range of laboratory testing. The lab is staffed for 24/7 testing and analysis of your lab data. We routinely provide electronic transfer of lab results to our sponsors in FDA-approved formats including HL7.

A dedicated phlebotomy area and urine collection area are adjacent to the lab to provide quick access to study samples. -70° freezers are available for storage and are monitored round the clock for changes in temperature. <

On the Floor

Each floor has wide-spacious hallways for smooth traffic during busy procedure hours. Each patient room has its own bathroom equipped with shower, sink, and toilet. Patients have dedicated lockers and share access to cable television and a VCR/DVD player.

Both floors are equipped with a synchronized clock system that ensures time-critical procedures are performed properly. Exam rooms, phlebotomy suite, and lab are adjacent to patient areas in a central location. Numerous patient recreation areas are located on each floor. Our on site cafeteria can accommodate the most demanding and varied dietary requirements.

Access into and out of the unit on both floors is controlled by a proximity card security system. A two-way paging system is installed in each patient room and is monitored by our nursing and telemetry staff. Finally, a dedicated IT staff oversees a high-speed data network to ensure that your data is transmitted quickly and on time.

ECG Telemetry and Data Acquisition

A 32-channel Mortara Surveyor 12-lead Telemetry System is installed. This state-of-the-art system facilitates ECG monitoring, data acquisition, exporting, and archiving. The Surveyor System enables HCD to support large studies requiring continuous telemetry monitoring, as well as thorough-QT studies requiring intensive 12- lead ECG documentation and data collection. Clinic efficiency is significantly improved, and real-time monitoring of signal quality significantly reduces lost time points, while improving subject compliance and investigator oversight.
